Dyslexia Therapist/Owner
Amanda Adams, CALT-C
I have been an educator for 27 years. I earned my teaching degree in 1998 and spent most of my career as an elementary school teacher, teaching all subjects. I quickly found a passion for teaching young children to read and started looking into becoming a dyslexia therapist.
In 2020, I jumped at the opportunity to become a District Reading Interventionist, working with struggling readers at my school. During my time in that position, I helped students with dyslexia and related disorders strengthen their reading and writing abilities through direct, systematic, multisensory literacy instruction. In June 2022, I began my dyslexia therapist training with the Dyslexia Center of Austin to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist. I was trained using Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia, developed by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children. Over the next two years, I completed 200 hours of therapy-level training and 700 hours of supervised practicum with Take Flight to prepare for the ALTA Certification Exam at the Therapy level. In June 2024, I received my CALT-C certification and am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education with an emphasis on dyslexia at Midwestern State University.
I have a daughter who attends Baylor Law School and a son who attends Texas A&M University. There is nothing I love more than seeing a student unlock their full potential and become a confident reader. After my son graduated from high school, I decided to step back from public education to spend more time with my family. I now provide private dyslexia therapy and reading interventions with students virtually.
Over the years, I have helped many children through Direct, Systematic, Multi-sensory instruction, and I look forward to helping your child succeed!
Dyslexia Therapist
Kelli DeRoche, CALT
I have over 25 years in the field of education. I am dedicated to helping students with early literacy development. My passion and joy stems from teaching students how to read. I began my career teaching first grade before moving into kindergarten, where I spent 12 years building strong foundations in early literacy. I later transitioned into instructional coaching and now serve as a dyslexia interventionist. I have held this position for the past six years. This role has led me on a pathway of working with students who need support in reading. I work closely with students who struggle with reading and related language skills through structured, evidence-based and explicit instruction. I hold a master’s degree in educational leadership and am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). I began my CALT training in the summer of 2022 where I was trained using Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia, developed by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children.
Originally from South Louisiana, I have called The Woodlands home for over 20 years, after relocating in 2005. I am the proud mother of two daughters who continue to inspire me both personally and professionally. I am passionate about helping students overcome reading challenges and believe every child deserves the confidence and opportunities that come with acquiring strong literacy skills.
